ANGOON, July 26, 2010 — The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) Jessie Norma Jim Health Center in Angoon will host a special Denali KidCare pediatric dental clinic on Aug. 23-27.
This special pediatric clinic will feature dental examination appointments on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 23-24, with follow-up treatment taking place later in the week (Aug. 25-27). The clinic is open for all children up to 18 years old only who currently are enrolled in the State of Alaska’s Denali KidCare program or are on Medicaid. Dr. Howard Hunt will lead the pediatric dental team for this clinic.
Parents and guardians who wish to have their children participate in this special clinic should call Tina Gamble at the SEARHC Jessie Norma Jim Health Center at 788-4655 to schedule an exam appointment. Denali KidCare is a state program designed to make sure Alaska resident children younger than 18 of working and non-working parents, and expecting mothers who meet income guidelines, have insurance so they have full access to health care. SEARHC partners with the Denali KidCare program to provide special clinics around the region when pediatric dentists are available.
