Business Plan Workshop (Pitch Then Plan): Tuesday, September 30th:

Ten people attended the business plan training on Sept. 30th (6:30-9:30 PM) with Isaac Vanderburg of Rural Outreach Programs for Entrepreneurs. This is Isaac’s second trip to Angoon this year. He introduced participants to the ”Pitch Then Plan” business planning software using a cookie company example that was both entertaining and educational. Participants created accounts and began setting up their own plans in the presentation/planning/spreadsheet program. To work with this program go to:    http://www.pitchthenplan.com/homepage.htm

Isaac also had a chance to schedule appointments and meet with individuals interested in financing and business counseling. He gathered ideas from the Kodiak Coat Company/Angoon Cooperative and took a virtual tour of the company’s coats and history with owner/operator Bridget Milligan. Isaac also worked with business plans involving a cab company, restaurant and carving enterprise.

The ROPE Business Advisor also got a chance to help roll in the first log for the carving project. Thanks to Alice Thomas for providing him with transportation to the Lodge as well as a memorable bear tour. More will be posted on Isaac’s webpage under the Trainings tab.
