E-BAY TRAINING FOR ARTISTS WITH SEALASKA INTERNS RACHEL BRYAN-AUKER AND CRYSTAL ROGERS: AUGUST 19th-20th, 2008
On August 19th and 20th, 7-10 PM, ABC’s Sealaska Interns conducted two formal trainings with local artists and others to reinforce individualized e-commerce lessons provided over the summer. Rachel and Crystal had previously taken intensive training in website and e-bay store development from the IT department at Sealaska Corporation. The overview for artists included Photoshop Elements fundamentals for enhancing and framing photos for e-bay sales; posting and monitoring ads and auctions, setting reserve and bidding prices; and many other important tips for sellers.
Rachel and Crystal have also spent hours over the summer writing detailed direction packets in step-by-step format for anyone wishing to sell online through the ABC store or independently. These packets are currently available at ABC and will soon be downloadable from this webpage.
Stella works with Rachel to put a border on the sales photos of one of her husband’s handpainted cribbage boards.
Rachel spent many hours developing carver Jamie Daniels’ gallery page and showing him how to post his carvings on e-bay. Jamie says he also liked learning how to work with Adobe Photoshop.
Crystal helps Ivan download photos of his work from the digital camera and set them up in our e-bay store format using Photoshop Elements.
Ivan Williams brought more of his beaded and hand sewn items to show Crystal and to learn how to post online. Crystal also spent long hours conducting artist interviews with Ivan and other artists for the web gallery.
